Product Details
The new uniform for the Red Army was approved in 1919. It was based on sketches of the famous Russian artist Vasnetsov. The inspiration was the uniform of the old Russian regular warriors "Streltsy". These figures have fur hats (papakha) of the Russian Imperial Army as a headdress. This combination was typical of the 51st Division of the Red Army.
The first military units to receive a complete new uniform appeared in 1920 and took part in the rout of the Crimean group of General Wrangel and in the Soviet-Polish War.
