In 1920, General Wrangel established to reward the military units who distinguished themselves in battles with the Bolsheviks, collective awards in honor of the patron of the white armies - St. Nicholas the Wonderworker. Among them were the so-called "Nicholas Colours". These banners were awarded to 9 "colored" regiments of the White army.
