Khorunzhii the Orenburg Cossack Host, 1890
By 1895, the population of the Orenburg Cossack Host consisted of 354,000 persons of both sexes. Cossacks were exposed to active service 193 officers and 5029 of lower rank, but only in the serving discharge, there were 473 officers and 43,821 lower rank. In peacetime, the Cossack Host exhibited six cavalry regiments, 2 separate horse hundreds, 3 batteries and 3 local command. Officers are studied in established in 1876, the Orenburg Cossack College.
At the officer hat (papakha) with black Karakul. Top hat of light blue cloth with a shell of silver braid. Uniform of dark green "king" of cloth. On the collar and cuffs light blue edging; buttonhole silver. Cingular silver scarf total officer sample. Cavalry epaulets with silver flake field on light-blue hit (of the Khorunzhii, 2 gold stars). Saber belt of black leather, lined with silver braid. Steel cartridge with a cover made from black leather with silver eagle and the rim. Girdle of black leather trimmed with a wide silver braid. Strap checkers black silk stitched on the edges of silver, silver brush with orange silk. Gray-blue trousers with a broad light blue stripes.
Cossacks from other Cossack troops could have their uniforms of other colors.
