Pz.Kpfw II - a light German tank.
Developed in 1937. Various modifications may be made until 1942. At the beginning of World War II, such tanks accounted for 38 percent of the tank fleet Wehrmacht. In battle, they were weaker in arms and booked almost all the tanks of the same class: 7TR Polish, French, R35 and H35, the Soviet T-26 and BT. Only in 1942 they were taken from the tank regiments and used in part or in assault artillery brigades, or the secondary sectors of the front.
On September 1, 1939, German troops in 1223 possessed tanks of this type. During the Polish campaign, the Wehrmacht had lost 259 cars, but deadweight losses of only 83 units.
By the beginning of the offensive in the West, May 10, 1940 1110 Panzerwaffe disposal tank type Pz.II, of which 995 were in a combat-ready condition. As part of the ten panzer divisions earmarked for the campaign, it was 920 Pz.II. During the French campaign was lost 240 cars.

During 1941, the Eastern Front had lost 424 tanks. Pz.II used until 1943. In Operation "Citadel" was attended by 70 Pz.II. In March 1945 there were 145 units of the army tanks of this type.
