Berserker, 9-10 age
Berserker warriors called the Vikings, prone to fits of madness combat. Before the battle berserks drank the infusion of fly agaric, then brought himself into a rage: shouting obscenities, snarling and brandish. In the battle differed violently, fearlessness and insensitivity to pain. It was believed that they possess supernatural powers, which they gave the supreme god of the Scandinavian Odin.
Berserkers do not recognize the shield and armor, they fought bare-chested, dressed in wolf or bear hides. In one of the sagas describe how they rushed into battle without the mail and fought like mad dogs and wolves, and power compared with the bears and bulls. With an animal roar, they killed people, and neither fire nor iron could not hit them. This is called Berserker Rage. These men willingly took a personal guard of the King (Konung), consisting of 12 persons. Berserkers are always fought in the front row on land and at sea located on the bow of the ship and in the middle, under the royal banner. With the spread of Christianity in Scandinavia the pagan cult of the god Odin is gone and the glory of Berserkers disappeared.
