Poland 1914-1921
I will put up a translation of most of the pages 121-392 covering the above period: from the fine book: ZARYS DZIEJÓW WOJSKOWOŚCI POLSKIEJ (1864-1939), Wojskowy Instytut Historyczny, Redaktor Piotr Stawecki, Warsawa 1990.

A ”Brief History on the Polish Military”, the title says, but it is still about 250 pages!

First the idea was to use the text as skeleton for a more complete edition, with more details and pictures from many other sources, but soon it was clear that for many reasons it would bee a too massive and unmanageable workload.

Instead, I first will put up the above mentioned texts, which give a good overview, and then over time expand with pictures and other stuff, when time and energy allow it.
In that fashion readers will now get a ”short” overview of the rather complicated subject, as Poles in the period are to be found fighting on almost all fronts.

The Polish uniforms will be dealt with in the same fashion, first of all using the relevant pages of the books

POLSKI MUNDUR WOJSKOWY 1918-1939, Henryk Wielecki, BELLONA, Warsawa 1995

BARWA I BRON SIŁ ZBROJNYCH WIELKOPOLSKI W LATACH 1918-1920, Andrzej Jeziorkowski, Tadeusz Jeziorowski, Jarosław Łuczak, Bogusław Połak, Marek Rezler. Koszalin 1988.

I hope some of the Polish readers of this site will contribute with details from sources more accessible to them and with greater knowledge on the subject, than I have.

Mistakes in my translations you will have to forgive and by all means correct, as I neither read or speak Polish, but use Google and a dictionary for most parts, as I only know a few polish words and am still learning.
Neither is English my native language, so also my English will of course be faulty and rather funny here and there, but hopefully understandable.
On the internet can be found astounding much material on many fine Polish sites, especially if you seach on the Polish terms, which I will include for many units and terms.
