Hello,

very interesting information. I have some questions about the UNR army . What type of ammo pouches were mostly issued or worn ? were canvas bandoliers used ? Did UNR soldiers wear puttees or have long boots ? Did UNR soldiers wear Russian uniforms or have the khaki tunic, breches or cap ?
Finally any photos of UNR soldiers ? I have only seen photos of UNR officers in "Ukrainian armies 1914-55" by Peter Abbott.

Pete.

Type of uniforms and equipment worn by military units UNR depends on the basis of what troops they were created. If the base - the former part of the Russian Imperial Army, and the clothing and equipment from them Russian. If a military unit created by the Germans and Austrians - and then clothing and equipment used in these countries.
But here I am not aware - I more interested in Siberia, the Far East and Central Asia.

We must look for photos of a particular military unit - this is the best source of information.

Michael is right about equipment. Photos also in Russian and Ukrainian-language network a lot. Write a search for "армия УНР" or "петлюровцы" or "Центральная рада".

Hello again,

when fighting the Poles did the Western Ukrain/Galician army mainly wear the Austrian light coloured "pike grey" uniforms or would they have worn the grey- green uniform ( assuming the grey-green uniform was actually issued).

Looking at the photos posted it looks as if both types of uniform were worn.

The book Deryabin "National Army" - says that in the UGA "because of the lack of uniform cloth and workshops, which are sewn to the same for the whole army uniforms, uniforms has never been unified cut and color."
